Start saving energy today!

Filed under: GET Savings — Ralf @ 9:37 AM

Energy Savings becomes more and more important!

Not only to remain on track in the race of competitiveness in both the local and the export market but also to stay profitable in order to be able to continuously invest already today into the technologies of tomorrow.

The force has to remain intact when we want to keep things moving and this most especially in this crisis driven times.

This month the power rates are going up again in the Philippines and that nationwide, so we have to save energy more than ever while climate change and energy savings as a counter measure are also a well discussed topic these days.

Danfoss helps you to increase your efficiency and this with much less energy requirements, not a fairy tale but real facts.

Just one application out of countless different possibilities here an example of Energy savings on air compressors.

Let’s go green, let’s go Danfoss.

Have a look at this new video, it shows many satisfied clients in Europe, particularly Denmark, the very place where our Danfoss VFD’s are manufactured.

Another video very much related to the very topic of energy savings through the use of Variable Frequency Drives is the following. The lecture is done with an Indian accent but it is going quite well into a lot of details. The video is one whole hour long, enjoy the show!

Energy Savings With Danfoss VFD’s

We all know already how convenient Variable Frequency Drives or VFD’s nowadays really are.

Others call it Frequency Inverters or Frequency Converters or simply VLT, but they mean all the same, ultimate flexibility.

Some of us might still remember the good old times when we needed dozens of contactors and a large space for them in order to design an electrical solution but these days are gone and VFD’s make life so much easier.

Even the technology of VFD’s itself has meanwhile advanced so much that we simply can no longer think them away from our daily operations, they became not only much smarter but also still much smaller that sometimes I also wonder how such a cute little thing can result into such a great and reliable performance.

What many of us though often forget is that the VFD’s can help us also a lot by conserving energy, a very familiar topic especially these days as resources are slowly depleting, energy prices know only one way and that is up and globalisation requires us to stay competitive with the manufacturing of our products by reducing our production cost.

But how can we reduce the production cost?

You guessed it right, the answer is by using Danfoss VFD’s because of various reasons:

1.) VFD’s increase the power factor from a regular value of around 0.8 or 80% to something like 0.98 or 98%. Sorry, we can’t make it 100% but close enough.

2.) VFD’s reduce the need for lots of operators because in its very nature it automates the production process, so we have much less maintenance costs, the Danfoss VFD is basically an employee but not on a payroll, imagine that.

3.) VFD’s and who would have thought about that, help also to achieve substantial savings on the mechanical aspects.

Sounds a bit odd? Probably it does but it is true the adjustable soft accelerating and decelerating mode together with the usually lower operation speed or even reduced run time will lead proportionally to much less maintenance costs for expensive meachanical parts such as bearings, fittings, gears, etc, etc, etc… Likewise you should expect less vibration and heat that may effect also other equipment nearby.

This also means that we are dealing with much less downtimes, the precious time is better spent with manufacturing rather than repairing equipment, more uptime, another very valid point, I suppose.

4.) VFD’s reduce your cost of energy because it is programmed to work as required, a customized solution will lead ultimately into very significant energy savings, hence the acquisition of a VFD itself has a very short return of investment or ROI.

One of the conventional methods was to use for example manually or even automatically operated dampers to control airflow in a blower application, release valves to avoid overpressure in compressor units or other diverting and extracting methods in water applications among many others but our Variable Frequency Drive will simply slow down when needed, meaning regulate the supply in accordance to the demand, perfectly clean and convenient and here is where we can save more than we could imagine.

Sounds all too good to be true? It is good and it is true. We have prepared for you a presentation about the benefits of VFD’s.

We show you possible energy savings, particularly in the food and beverage industries, we discuss various applications like:

1.) Industrial Refrigeration

2.) Pumps

3.) Boilers

4.) Air Compressors
