MCD-200 features and benefits

Danfoss VLT Compact Softstarter MCD-200

The MCD-200 series comes in two families, namely the MCD-201 without protection and MCD-202 with protection and they are available from 7.5KW to 110KW.

Commonly offered are the T4 models with a voltage range of 440VAC but due to the prevailing voltage spikes here in the Philippines and probably even more particularly here in Mindanao we do always recommend the upgraded T6 models because they are rated for a maximum of 575 Volts.  

The price of T6 version differs to the T4 level but the benefits, meaning the added life span outweighs this adjustment by a multifold and extensive experiences also in this area have proven that already countless times, that is what we can assure! 

The MCD-200 family offers easy DIN rail mounting for sizes up to 30KW, 2-wire or 3-wire start/stop control and excellent starting duty with 4 times the rated current for 6 seconds and heavy starting ratings at 4 times the rated current for 20 seconds while for such harsh conditions and in view again of the voltage fluctuations we would always recommend to upsize the Softstarter by at least one step, especially so because depending on the exact model the price would usually be elevated only by a rather negligible amount indeed and your price inquiries for comparison would certainly confirm this. 

The MCD-200 family is compatible with grounded delta power systems, a perfect match for all standard applications such as for example pumps, fans, compressors, mixers, conveyors and many more, plus it is also capable for a remote operation: 

Remote operation of MCD-201, MCD-202 and MCD-500 is facilitated by the dedicated remote operator kit. The operator unit is rated IP54 (or Nema 12) and is mounted on the cabinet front and allows therefore remote control, status indication and motor monitoring of an individual VLT Softstarter using RS-485 serial communication.
